Carlyn Weaver is an executive board member of
Fight OUT Loud. She is an engineer with degrees
from the University of Central Florida and John
Hopkins University. She lives happily in Maryland
with her husband.
How does this make her qualified to help in the fight
for LGBT rights?
In her own words:
"I believe that the only qualification you need to fight
discrimination is the belief that everyone is equal and
should be treated as such. As a woman working in a
male-dominated field, I know that discrimination still
exists in many forms and would like to do what I can
to try and make a difference... Plus, I look forward to
the day when my brother can finally marry his partner
and adopt so that our mother will stop buying outfits
for my child that doesn’t even exist yet."
