1.) Provide immediate resources, support, and assistance for GLBT individuals
who are faced with situations of discrimination and hate to get a satisfactory
resolution. This is done by:
- Fast-action, web-based support and research for GLBT individuals as soon an
incident is reported.
- Guiding individuals through the maze of obstacles that may come from speaking out
publicly on GLBT issues with one-on-one attention.
- Mobilizing the GLBT community and its allies to assist through Action Email Alerts.
- Contacting sister organizations to further assist individuals throughout their situation.
- Issuing press releases and information to assist in getting a positive resolution.
2.) Provide training to the GLBT community and its allies on how to become
leaders and advocates in their own communities. This is done by:
- Presenting training and lecture series at GLBT community centers, school
Gay/Straight Alliances, and other organizations.
- One-on-one work with local or new organizations to help establish a strong base of
support and structure.
- Providing information on using technology, dealing with the media, and other
important topics that will assist the GLBT community and its allies in becoming better
leaders and advocates.
3.) Raise awareness and educate the general public about the still present
discrimination and hatred focused on the GLBT community. This is done by:
- Posting frequent website updates and current news.
- Presenting lecture series and talks around the country to highlight GLBT issues.
- Releasing frequent information, statements, and interviews to the media to bring
attention to GLBT concerns.
